JOB DESCRIPTION
THIS IS A TEMPORARY POSITION

Enhance production of game broadcasts and studio shows by providing statistical analysis and background information. Ensure accuracy and quality of information used on broadcasts. Serve as valued research source. Develop storylines for game broadcasts. This position requires a passion for college athletics and in-depth knowledge of college basketball. This is a 12-month position.

Job Responsibilities: Provides incisive and detailed information for remote and studio shows. This information will be used by on-air staff and production personnel, both in-house and in the field. Create graphics and provide information for score panels. Acts as a fact checker in all situations. Puts together notes packages to be used by all ESPN personnel. Formulates and develops story ideas to be used on both remote and studio shows. Works in studio to provide announcers, analysts and producers with timely, relevant, compelling and accurate information. Develops and maintains key resources for the research department (media guides, stylebook, pronunciation guides, calendars, databases, etc.) Initiates tasks to better the research department independently of assigned tasks.

Required Qualifications: In-depth knowledge of sports, especially college basketball. Excellent writing, communication and computer skills. Ability to take complex statistical information and translate that information into understandable, compelling and entertaining graphics and storylines. Ability to work under tight deadlines and in a high-pressure environment. Must be able to work nights and weekends. One to three years of related experience.

Desired Qualifications: College degree preferred.
